I recently had the opportunity to take a trip that had been on my bucket list for years. Along with my trip to Japan, this was one of those experiences I never thought I would actually get the chance to do. I feel incredibly fortunate to have now crossed both off my list.
Our adventure took place from May 27 through June 4, 2026. We started by flying from Orlando to Vancouver, British Columbia. I have always loved Canada and was excited to finally visit Vancouver. My only previous visit to Canada was Toronto, and I’ve wanted to experience the Pacific Northwest for a long time. During our layover in Toronto, I even had the chance to snap a photo with the FIFA World Cup ball, which was a fun surprise.

This trip was all about family. Unlike many of my travels, I wasn’t focused on creating content for my YouTube channel. Well, mostly. I did film a short video documenting the journey and sharing some tips on taking the Canada Line train from Vancouver International Airport to downtown Vancouver. Depending on when you’re reading this, that video may already be live or coming soon. Beyond that, my goal was simple: disconnect, enjoy time with my family, and not worry about filming every moment.

After arriving in Vancouver and getting settled into our hotel, we headed out to explore the city. Since our cruise was departing the next day, it was nice to have some time to look around. We grabbed dinner at a nearby restaurant called Pholicious, just a short walk from our hotel, and spent the evening wandering the area. We also made our way to the cruise terminal to see exactly where we would be heading the following morning.

The next day, we boarded the Disney Magic for a seven-night Alaska cruise. Our itinerary included stops in Skagway, Ice Strait Point, and Ketchikan. Each destination offered stunning scenery and a chance to experience a different side of Alaska.

While every cruise port has its fair share of souvenir shops and tourist attractions, we made it a point to venture beyond the main streets whenever possible. We explored a few hiking trails and spent time simply taking in the incredible landscapes around us. As someone who lives in Florida, being surrounded by towering mountains was a welcome change of pace. I could have spent hours just sitting and staring at the scenery. There is something incredibly peaceful about seeing nature on that scale.

Of course, the cruise itself was just as memorable as the destinations. This was only my second cruise overall and my first time sailing with Disney Cruise Line. From the moment we stepped onboard, the service was exceptional. The food was excellent, the crew members were incredibly friendly, and there was never a shortage of activities for the family to enjoy.
I also learned that the Disney Magic is Disney Cruise Line’s oldest and smallest ship. Even so, it never felt lacking in entertainment. One of the highlights was decorating our cabin door and exchanging small gifts with fellow cruisers, which added a fun sense of community throughout the voyage.
The onboard entertainment was another standout. We enjoyed several live productions, including Tangled: The Musical and Twice Charmed, a creative twist on Cinderella’s story. There was also another show inspired by Peter Pan that incorporated characters and moments from various Disney films. The performances were well done and became some of our favorite memories from the trip.

What I appreciated most, however, was the opportunity to truly relax. One moment in particular stands out. I was waiting in line to meet Spider-Man when I suddenly realized I could do that back home in Orlando. Instead, I left the line, grabbed a coffee, found a quiet spot on one of the upper decks, and spent time taking in the breathtaking views around me. It ended up being one of the most enjoyable moments of the entire cruise.
While I don’t think every future cruise needs to be a Disney cruise, I would absolutely sail with Disney again. The experience delivered everything I was hoping for and more. It provided a chance to unplug, spend quality time with my family, experience some incredible destinations, and simply enjoy the moment.
Looking back, I’m grateful for the memories we made and the opportunity to experience a destination that had been on my bucket list for so long. Alaska’s beauty exceeded my expectations, and the Disney Magic helped create a vacation that I won’t soon forget.
